West Michigan Senior Cap & Gown Sessions
If you’ve come through this year as a senior in school or have a child that has, you have been affected by Covid in one way or another. You have lived in the uncertainty of not knowing what was going to happen and missed out on some big events this year. My heart goes out to you all and Seniors of 2020 deserved something to help celebrate them and what they have overcome.
So I offered “Mini Senior Sessions” for the whole month of June. These were perfect for updated senior photos, cap and gown sessions or just a little session to celebrate them!
I had so much fun photographing all these 2020 seniors. They twirled, danced, and laughed during these sessions. I got to photograph both new and familiar faces. Some even made it a session with their friends, which was an awesome idea. What a great memory to have as they look back. I so wish I did this with my girlfriends before I graduated high school. When asked what they wanted to get out of these sessions, the answer was to be happy when they look back on their senior year”. This is exactly what they got. You can just see the happiness and fun in each one of these photos. The current state of the world was obsolete at this point in time.
I even had some of my images published by magazines. These lucky seniors were ecstatic. Published in Golden Exposure Magazine- Issue 9 and the Storyteller Magazine- Issue 18. Check out my publications here and here. You can just create a free account to view the magazines through Magcloud.
Here is my final message to the Seniors of 2020. There is nothing that you can’t overcome because you’ve been tested as much as any young person can be tested. All the rites of passage and traditions such as prom and graduation, class trips, celebrating with friends that you missed out on will mean so much more to you when they happen sometime down the road. It may not happen exactly as you planned but that just makes you all the more special and different!
