Outdoor Newborn Lifestyle Session
I have to say that doing a newborn session outside was a first for me. This family and I had been through so much over these last few months due to COVID and the stay at home order. The end result though that came from this first time outdoor newborn lifestyle session was just perfection.
Originally, they had hired me to do a birth session for them, as this would have been another first for me. This was a way to capture something so new and amazing for someone. While I could also start building my portfolio to include this different type of lifestyle session. I am a firm believer in growing and going outside your comfort zone, however that is a whole separate topic and post.
When COVID hit, birth photography and really all photography sessions in general came to a screeching halt. So when that wasn’t an option, they decided on capturing a newborn session instead. Things started slowly opening back up in Michigan. Shooting indoors wasn’t allowed as of yet so that brought our journey to an outdoor newborn session.
These first time parents and Cassidy were an absolute dream to work with. Cassidy was pretty much sleeping the whole time and didn’t mind being moved around into different positions. She was just the best baby!
The best thing about all of this and why its perfection, is because of the experience I was able to provide to this family. Mom normally hates having her picture taken. She said I made her feel comfortable and beautiful which is something she does not usually feel. She was able to relax in the session. And since babies feed off energy- this is probably why sweet Cassidy slept so sweetly.
All of this confirms why I do what I do. While its my end goal to provide you beautiful heartwarming images, the road to get there is just as important.
