As a Kalamazoo Senior Photographer, I love capturing the true essence and personality of each senior. Nelly’s senior session showcased such confidence and beauty and remained totally natural to her.
Nelly’s year, like many, has been affected by Covid. Trying to school from home, missing out on huge social events and even missing a ‘normal’ graduation. Her goal for this session was to feel happy and have a great time. You get an idea for how it turned out in the first photo, but take a look at the rest just to see how much we hit home on this.
My goal pre session is to get to know my seniors through a questionnaire. I want to know about them and how they want their session to feel and look. Nelly’s style is overall casual and comfy. She wanted to be portrayed in a natural and fun way. She loves being goofy, in the moment and is a free spirit. I would say we captured all of this and more.
The setting took place at Westerns Campus to get a city vibe with some beautiful landscapes that Nelly was hoping for. The other half took place at Lilian Anderson Arboretum which provides a backdrop for the most amazing woodsy feel. The wintery woodsy feel also a request of Nelly. Just take a look at this landscape.
Nelly brought along her sister and Mom for the session and we all had such a blast. It was freezing outside but we kept the session so fun and filled with laughter that nobody was even thinking about the cold after a while. It was such a good time for everyone!
